Kids are very cool.
Today we had a recital at the house for my 9 students. They all came with their parents, friends, and siblings in their spiffy clothing. Each one of them did a great job --- some of them I could tell got a lot of last minute practicing in. It was great.
I remember when I was in second grade and had my first piano recital. It was neat to be a part of a memory that these guys will have for a lifetime. Only unfortunate part is that it makes me feel as old as dirt.

May
I can't believe May is already here. April seemed to fly by. I'm looking forward to the snow cone stands opening up and eating out on restraunt patios. Not looking forward to mowing in the sweltering, heat, though.
I'm still working on my solo album one small step at a time. I'll be posting some stuff on myspace soon. Along with the writing and singing, I'm falling in love with the production side, too.
I have a new nephew named Mason.

Exhaustion
Maybe I'm not getting enough sleep - but everything is funnier these days for some reason.
A Bad Thing Happened at the WalMart Bathroom....
Elaine and I had to make a run to a pretty ghetto Wal-Mart last night for some supplies...and we both had really horrible bathroom experiences.
The walmart bathrooms have those automatic sinks that turn on when you put your hands under them --- but they are so extremely shallow that you are almost forced to touch the sides or bottom of the sink to get your hands underneath the flow of water.....which wouldn't be that big of a deal if there wasn't a baseball size gooey mess of gum that some kid had placed in the sink.
Elaine experienced a little exhibitionism when she walked in...2 larger ladies using the toilets with the doors open. (blech).
I won't be going to the bathroom anymore there. Scared. Truly scared.

Here It Comes
It's finally here. I'm starting on my own CD project in less than a week. I've slated 5 songs to do up front. They range everywhere from dance/r&b to ballads to praise and worship. It'll be a wild ride. I'll be putting things up here and on myspace so you can take a listen.

Singing in Waco
Got to sing at Woodway First United Methodist this past weekend with my pals Carlton and Eric. It's the first time I've done a full concert in awhile - but it was exciting and motivating to finish some of my songs and get back out there.

I Like to Shoot
Got an opportunity to go to a firing range with Mike and David this morning. I always like shooting - but I didn't realize I liked it this much....

First we shot 2 different 12 gauge shotguns...one pump-action police issue overstock that kicked nicely. I like it when the recoil is pretty harsh...seems a little more sporting that way.

Then we stepped over to the pistol range where I got to try out a couple of different hand guns. My favorite was the glock... Today felt very redneck - but very fun.

Might I Suggest
Pappy's Hamburger Co. on Mockingbird.
Tyler and I went on a whim. Great stuff. Greasy spoon. And fine fried okra.

Today's Lunch : Which Wich

Elaine recently moved to the Uptown branch of Republic Title. At the bottom of her building, there is a sandwich place called Which Wich. Pretty good stuff.
For all you Wacoans, it's kinda like Quizno's goes to Heitmiller's where you fill out your order on a little form and turn it in.
Tonight, we're going to see :

The Omen. Everyone needs a good horror flick now and again.
